Press Release Summary = Mark Siegel, Assistant Headmaster of The Delphian School in Sheridan, Oregon, was awarded a Special Award of Merit for his many contributions to the local Chamber of Commerce and the community.
Press Release Body = At its Annual Dinner in October, the Chamber of Commerce in McMinnville, Oregon, awarded its Special Award of Merit to Delphian School Assistant Headmaster Mark Siegel. Outgoing Chamber Board Chair, Robb Childs, presented Siegel the award in appreciation of his service both to the McMinnville Chamber and the community.
Childs noted that the Special Award of Merit varies from year to year, recognizing special contributions to the Chamber or the community that do not easily fall into another category. He noted that Siegel has a deep commitment to the growth and success of the community and the county. He served the Chamber as an active and influential Board member and Board Chair. He continues to serve on the Chamber's Futures Committee and its Facilities Task Force. He remains one of Chamber President Celia Wheeler's trusted advisors on policy improvements.
The award noted that Siegel has also given of his time and talents in ensuring other organizations succeed as well. He is always eager to offer his services to moderate and facilitate planning sessions. He has done so for the Chamber on many occasions and also for the Yamhill Valley Visitors Association and the McMinnville Downtown Association. Association Manager Patti Webb reports that Siegel has been a volunteer facilitator for the McMinnville Downtown Association many times and always does a fabulous job.
Siegel has also stepped forward on many occasions as a representative regarding the Dundee Bypass Plan to engage the West Valley area on the issue. Childs noted, "He does this because he believes it is critical to the prosperity of the county. Mark really does have a passion for his community and is always glad to contribute. We appreciate Mark's service."
The award surprised Siegel. His only comment was that he was glad to be able to help and was happy that the Delphian School supported him in his community activities. Siegel said, "I really do love helping the Chamber and the other community groups. I plan to continue to help in any way I can to help our community flourish and prosper!"
